CCAT Solar Thermal

Project Description:

CCAT’s main house/building structure was relocated during construction of the BSS building and during the relocation of the building structure, an existing solar thermal system had to be removed. Once the relocation effort of the building was completed, HEIF allocated approximately $16,643 to install two new evacuated tube panels on the roof of the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology(CCAT) and data monitoring equipment in order to maintain the pre-existing solar thermal technology. The project’s goal was to support CCAT in their efforts to continue showcasing solar technologies and offer a unique set of educational opportunities for students and the public to learn about appropriate technologies. The solar thermal technology provides heat and hot water to the CCAT building and reduces CCAT’s environmental impact of energy usage.
